Established in 1640, this Baroque mill has been home to artists, former prime ministers, and dissidents alike and can now be your manor for the day to host your special event. Situated just 30 minutes from Vaclav Havel Airport and 1 hour from central Prague.
Mill 1640 can host your country-style garden wedding or special event and reception within its unique, fully enclosed 1-acre walled courtyard, affording privacy and seclusion for up to 100 guests comfortably. Its former stables have been meticulously restored into an elegant and grand vaulted reception room that can seat up to 80 guests, with the option to seat additional guests in its charming formal dining room.
Events can be catered in our unique “cookhouse” cottage, which has been restored and converted into a fully equipped, purpose- built modern kitchen with its Mediterranean-style terrace.
With its imported wood-fired Spanish oven, multiple BBQs, modern appliances, and workstations, your appointed chef can prepare a sumptuous culinary feast.
Guests have the option to select a chef from our recommendations or arrange their own caterer. We leave this completely to your discretion.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE OWNERS
Gino & Karel, have been involved in the fashion and design industry for more than two decades, running their Sydney boutiques from their studio in the iconic fashion district of Paddington, Australia.
Having lived and worked between Prague and Sydney for several years, they came across the dilapidated 17th-century mill, which, having been abandoned since the 1990s, was in a dangerous state of disrepair.
It was apparent that this remarkable property dating to 1640 had seen better days, but despite it falling into ruin, what stood out to the owners was its unique architecture. its baroque facade, though weathered from the decades of neglect, still maintained an incredible presence, charm and integrity.
the rescue of this property was not just of historical importance to the area but a personal challenge to the owners requiring all their energy and ingenuity.
After years of commitment and overcoming insurmountable challenges meticulously restoring this property to its former glory and beyond, the owners of Mill 1640 would now like to share this unique Baroque property with you and hope you can become part of its rich history.
